Our
workshops
and courses provide unparalleled, authoritative professional
development, and are designed to strengthen the professional
credentials of educators at all levels. Workshops and courses
are appropriate for preservice and inservice teachers,
and
are targeted to specific curricular areas and grade levels
middle school math teachers, for example.
You will find training in content areas and educational theory
and practice, as well as supplemental video programs called
teaching
practices libraries that give a "fly-on-the-wall" view of
real teachers in real classrooms. Additional workshops are
designed for administrators, reformers, and policymakers.
Workshops and courses consist of video, print, and Web components
that can be used in group sessions or on your own. We recommend
participating with a group to get the benefits from discussion
with your colleagues, including participants around the country
on our email discussion lists called Channel-Talk.
Use of our workshop and course materials is free. Video programs are available as Video on Demand (VoD) on our Web site. Print guides are downloadable in PDF format. Videocassettes, DVDs, and print guides are also available for purchase from our catalog. Graduate credit is available for courses and most workshops for a reasonable cost.
****NOTE: Our certificate program is discontinued. We encourage you to use the materials for professional development and classroom resources. Please click on the participant info link on the top left of this page for more information. If you are currently taking a course or workshop, please complete it and submit the online attendance roster by June 30th, 2008. No new registrations will be accepted.
